Mayreder Bridge

The barrier-free pedestrian and cyclist bridge crosses the area of the U2 underground station Aspern and the S80 railway route.

Mayreder Bridge comprised the erection of a barrier-free pedestrian and cyclist connection in the 22nd district of Vienna near Mayredergasse, with direct western connection to the existing U2 underground railway station “Aspern Nord”.

Mayreder Bridge consists of an independent structure with lateral balustrades and wind protection covers made of LSG glass with a height of 2.3 m.

Small but beautiful. The project represented a complex design task due to the extensive projects in the surroundings.

For the crossing of the traffic structures S1 express highway (Asfinag), S80 municipal railway line (ÖBB) and U2 underground railway track (Vienna’s public transport operator) a bridge structure was erected which links Mayredergasse in the north with the forecourt of Seestadt Aspern in the south.
