FCP as Partner in the Training LAB

Wed, 08.07.2026

FCP brings in its expertise in digital engineering into the new training lab of “Digital Findet Stadt” as partner. The objective is to prepare companies of the construction and real estate industry for digital and sustainable transformation with practical qualification offers.

Vienna, July 2026 – Digital transformation basically changes the construction and real estate industry. New technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), BIM and automated processes create new opportunities for design, construction and operation of infrastructure and buildings. At the same time the demand for well-founded digital competencies is growing in companies.

Against this background a consortium under the leadership of “Digital Findet Stadt” was assigned with the development and operation of an industry-specific training lab. The project promoted by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) is realized together with Austrian Standards plus, FCP, IG Lebenszyklus Bau, the association of civil engineers and engineering companies (VZI) as well as the association of Austrian project developers of the real estate industry (VÖPE) as well as further project partners.

FCP strengthens the digital transformation of the construction industry

As one of Austria’s leading engineering companies FCP brings in its long-term experience in the field of digital engineering into the training lab. The development of digital methods, intelligent planning processes and data-based bases for decision has been a strategic focus of the company for years as also the latest internal developments showed: the internal PlanZ-App for automated payment plan preparation, AI-assisted event detection in measurement data of vibration measurements as well as the MS Teams-based CDE-solution DPU® - digital project universe.

The training lab has the target to quickly put current digitization know-how into practice and to support companies to successfully apply new technologies to support the digital transformation of the sector. Thus, the project makes an important contribution to competitiveness of the Austrian construction and real estate industry.

The offers are jointly developed with experts from design, engineering, standardization and the real estate sector and consistently orient themselves in the requirements of practice.

Digital engineering as strategic success factor

“For us digital engineering is far more than the digitization of existing processes”, declares FCP managing director Wolf-Dietrich Denk and continues, “The objective is to intelligently connect data, digital technologies and interdisciplinary engineering with each other. This results in more efficient planning processes, higher transparency, better bases for decision as well as more sustainable infrastructure and construction projects.”
