FCP Master’s Scholarship

FCP Master’s scholarship

Applications are open until 15 June 2026.

With two scholarships of EUR 300 per month, FCP is strengthening the education of future engineers and sending a clear signal in support of securing skilled professionals in the construction industry.

FCP is launching, for the first time, the FCP Master’s Scholarship in Civil and Environmental Engineering at TU Wien. The scholarship is aimed at students enrolled in the Master’s programmes in Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering and provides financial support of EUR 300 per month for up to two semesters while they prepare their Master’s thesis. The objective is to support dedicated early-career engineers and to strengthen practice-oriented research. Two scholarships will be awarded each year. During the funding period, students will also have the opportunity to work part-time at FCP alongside their studies on real engineering projects, enabling them to closely link their academic work with professional practice. Applications must be submitted via the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering at TU Wien by 15 June 2026.

Supporting early-career engineers at Master’s level

The scholarship is aimed at students of TU Wien who demonstrate above-average academic performance and are preparing a Master’s thesis on practice-oriented topics.

The academic focus may include, among other areas, design, structural engineering, infrastructure, energy, acoustics (noise), water engineering, GIS, or construction management. A key criterion is the integration of academic research with specific challenges from engineering practice.

Dieter Pichler

„ As an engineering consultancy, we see it as our responsibility to actively support the next generation in civil and environmental engineering. With the FCP Master’s Scholarship, we aim to enable TU Wien students to closely connect their Master’s thesis with practical application, while at the same time developing new perspectives for the engineering design of tomorrow. “

Dieter Pichler, managing director FCP

Linking research and engineering practice

During the scholarship period, students may work part-time at FCP alongside their studies. This is not mandatory but is expressly encouraged. It provides valuable insight into real engineering projects and includes professional supervision by experienced experts.

The combination of academic research, practical project work and mentoring is intended to foster close collaboration between university and engineering practice, while contributing to the development of innovative solutions to current challenges in the construction sector.

Application and selection process

Applications are open exclusively to TU Wien students enrolled in the Master’s programmes in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering who can demonstrate above-average academic performance (grade average better than 2.5) both in their completed Bachelor’s degree and their ongoing Master’s studies.

The application must include:

  • Letter of motivation and a brief CV
  • Current academic transcript
  • A Master’s thesis proposal agreed with the academic supervisor

Applications must be submitted to the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering at TU Wien: studium.cee@tuwien.ac.at

Application deadline: 15 June 2026

The selection process will be conducted jointly by representatives of TU Wien and FCP. Suitable candidates will be invited to an interview by the end of July 2026. A selection committee will then decide on the awarding of the two scholarships per year.
