Modernization of the railway line between Hamburg and Berlin
The complete renovation of the Hamburg–Berlin railway line is one of the most significant infrastructure projects currently underway in Germany.
Since July 2025, FCP IBU and FCP have been supporting the project as part of environmental construction supervision with a focus on immission control. The interdisciplinary team is deployed on the section between Büchen and Wittenberge, around 115 kilometers, and between Wittenberge and Osterburg, around 20 kilometers.

„ The Hamburg–Berlin high-performance corridor is a milestone of the general renovation — safeguarding climate-friendly mobility in Europe. With our immission control expertise, we enable construction that is both efficient and environmentally compatible “
Alexander Martha . FCP, project manager at HLK Hamburg-Berlin
The immission control construction supervision includes:
- Monitoring and evaluation of noise, dust, and vibration emissions
- Verification of compliance with requirements, limit values, and specifications
- Advising the construction management on low-immission construction methods and protective measures
- Documentation and technical coordination with clients, companies, and authorities
- Support in the implementation of measures to protect residents, employees, and the environment
"The Hamburg–Berlin high-performance corridor is not only a major technical project, but also a milestone for climate-friendly mobility in Europe. With our expertise in emission control, we are helping to ensure that construction processes are implemented efficiently and in an environmentally friendly manner," emphasizes Alexander Martha, project manager at HLK Hamburg-Berlin.
FCP is a subcontractor in the Hamburg–Berlin High-Performance Corridor engineering consortium (GIGA GmbH, IBBO 4.0 GmbH, GBL Gesellschaft für Bauüberwachung und -logistik mbH, and PTB Magdeburg GmbH), coordinated by Mull und Partner Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH.
With a cross-border team from Germany and Austria, FCP is thus making a significant contribution to the implementation of the mobility transition.
