Our water management team addresses water extraction, rainwater management, and wastewater drainage. With the increasing frequency of heavy rainfall events, the collection, pre-treatment, and disposal of stormwater has become a key aspect of planning. A further focus lies on the assessment of flood scenarios through 2D simulations and the preparation of evidence for regulatory procedures.

Blue Green Cities
Blue Green Cities seeks to foster intensive exchange between technical infrastructure, sustainable use, and the circular economy, with a focus on our climate.
By creating blue-green infrastructure, the quality of life in a city is sustainably improved. To this end, the available planted and plantable areas of a city are utilised, and the interaction between water resources and green-designed spaces is pursued.
Drainage and Rainwater Management
Drainage and rainwater management is a priority which has a far-reaching significance due to progressive sealing and the climatic requirements.
Our claim is the sustainable realization of drainage systems concerning containment and discharge of wastewater as well as the collection, cleaning, retention, percolation and release of accumulating surface waters. Our scope of services also includes the circular economy with retention, recirculation and re-use of the resource water.
The Principle Sponge City and Blue-Green Infrastructure
Retention of precipitations where they occur and thus the reduction of the peak outflows by aboveground and underground retention (blue infrastructure or the sponge principle). The water buffer can be used as service water depending on quality and respective preliminary treatment. In the simplest case it can be used for the irrigation of green areas. It can also be used as industrial or process water, in technical, commercial, agricultural or domestic applications, depending on the respective planning requirements.
Desealing of the surfaces and creation of green spaces and green islands (green infrastructure).
Percolation of the accumulating surface waters with appropriate subsoil conditions and therefore contribution to rainwater management and support of the water cycle (combination of blue/green).
Evaporation. The most familiar elements which favour evaporation and contribute to the reduction of urban heat islands are green roofs and green facades but also swales, open water expanses or tree trenching (deep bed trenching) contribute to evaporation (combination of blue/green).
