KliNa® Spotlight: Administrative District Authority Gänserndorf
Sustainable Refurbishment and Extension of the Administrative District Authority Gänserndorf.
The administrative district authority Gänserndorf is comprehensively refurbished and extended. The focus of the project is thermal rehabilitation of the existing building with a net floor space of approx. 4,500m², which is partly declared a listed monument. At the same time an annexe with a net floor space of approx. 800 m² is built. FCP is responsible for project control in this project.
An essential focus is on the improvement of the energy efficiency of the existing building. The windows, the facade and roof insulation as well as the complete HVACR are modernized to significantly lower the future operating costs and therefore contribute to the reduction of the CO₂ emissions in building operation. The refurbishment therefore combines energetic improvements with the preservation of the existing building fabric. The existing structure and the annexe are erected according to the golden climate standard “klimaaktiv Gold”. Additionally, the requirements of a building compliant with the EU taxonomy are met.
The combination of thermal rehabilitation and extension of existing structures shows the responsible handling of existing building fabric.
Sustainability aspects were also considered for the annexe. The building is realized as passive house in in-situ construction method and with semi-finished parts using eco-concrete. Thus, the demands of a contemporary and resource-efficient construction method were integrated into the extension.
“The combination of thermal rehabilitation, renewal of HVACR and extension of existing structures shows how energetic improvements and the responsible handling of existing building fabric can be connected”, says Franziska Fischer, FCP project manager.
Various departments of FCP cooperate – among others Project Management & General Consultant Buildings, Project Management & Technical and Financial Control Buildings, Building Services, Acoustics, Dynamics, Building Physics, Measurement & Instrumentation, Building Design, Tender Procedure & Cost Determination.
